Challenge
Petronio Wines are boutique artisan winemakers based in Victoria’s Yarra Valley. The company needed a stylish, cinematic promotional video featuring their chief winemaker, Max Petronio.
The stunning Yarra Valley location and gorgeous colour of the rich red wine needed to be showcased, while words should be kept to a minimum — the key to this project was to let the stunning visuals do the heavy lifting.
Engaging storytelling via compelling moving imagery? This sounded like the perfect job for Fizz Farm.
Solution
We decided to merge the best techniques from documentary and high-end television commercial production, in order to create a video that was visually captivating and imbued with warmth from the human subject.
As the saying goes, the early bird gets stuff done, so crew-call for this shoot was a bracing 4am — and the vision we captured of that Yarra Valley sunrise shows the grit was worth it. We spent the day with Max Petronio, capturing every squeeze and squelch of his hands-on (and feet-in) winemaking process. An interview with Max provided the audio bed for the piece. Dramatic music brought the final fizz, elevating the video from everyday to epic.
In addition to the master video, we also created a dozen social media snippets, for distribution across all of Petronio Wines’ online channels, extending their reach.
