Challenge

This project is a fantastic example of the magic of motion pictures. The client needed an eye-catching, informative promotional video about… a product that did not yet exist.

Here we had the opportunity to really flex our talent for extracting the ideals and goals of a client who had a sense of what they wanted, but wasn’t yet able to express it clearly. We love to coach and guide clients through the early development stage, to ensure we glean the intended outcomes of the project. From here we’re able to reverse engineer a pathway to producing high-quality screen imagery that works to convey a client’s message.

Solution

Unfazed by the formidable task, Fizz Farm jumped on board to literally bring the client’s idea to life — not just producing a high-end video, but modelling and creating prototypes of the product to appear as props within the visual imagery.

The video promotes a potential new product — a sensor which can communicate whether a door is left open or closed, or an appliance left on or off, via a mobile phone app. In order to show the as-yet-non-existent product at work, we needed to design and create the Sixth Sense device and the accompanying look of the phone app.

We wrote a killer script, cast a range of actors, flew in a dynamic host from Sydney, shot on location, and edited and animated the final piece right here in Melbourne.

Production components included:

Result

The video is like a glimpse into the future — a peek at a product that previously existed only in the mind of its creator. Fizz Farm produced an engaging visual piece that clearly conveys the benefits of this potential new technology, and presents it as fact.

It’s a powerful communication piece that demonstrates the possibilities and magic of filmmaking.
